On October 14, 2024, IL-based True Value Company LLC and seven affiliates (the “debtors”) filed chapter 11 cases in the District of Delaware (Judge Owens), armed with a plan to sell “substantially all” of their assets via auction. Competitor Do It Best Corp. (“Do It Best”) a member-owned hardware, lumber and building materials co-op based one state over in Indiana, is serving as stalking horse.
