💥New Chapter 11 Bankruptcy Filing - CHS FL, LLC💥
Another inmate care provider seeks to recover in chapter 11
On May 8, 2026, Brentwood, TN-based CHS FL, LLC, CHS TX, Inc. (“CHS TX”), YesCare Corp. (“YesCare”), and CHS AL, LLC (collectively, the “debtors”) filed chapter 11 bankruptcy cases in the Middle District of Florida (Judge Rivera II). The debtors provide physical and mental health services to inmates much like WellPath Holdings Inc. To do that, they utilize 1.5k+ employees operating in nineteen facilities across nine states, of which a little under half — nine — are in Florida.
The more astute among you may also recognize the debtors because they’re an off-branch of Corizon Health, Inc. (“Corizon”). In ‘22, it Texas two-stepped into (i) CHS TX, which was subsequently acquired by fellow-debtor YesCare, and (ii) the non-operating Tehum Care Services, Inc. (“Tehum”), which filed in the S.D. of Texas in ‘23. We mentioned it back then.
After years, Tehum finally confirmed a chapter 11 plan in March ‘25. One component? A $50mm settlement to be paid by the debtors over thirty months.
Think that got rid of their inmate-claim exposure?
Awkwardly, it did not. The settlement only required 95% of folks — including those who held civil rights and medical malpractice claims — to opt into it, leaving the door open for 5% of claims. Here’s a live shot of their plaintiffs’ lawyers watching:
