… Johnny asked, “Is Hollywood f*cked?” — a question that, in part due to artificial intelligence and in other part due to the proposed purchase of Warner Brothers — a lot of Hollywood seems to be asking these days. Johnny went on to discuss a recent Hollywood Reporter story about how California’s film industry still hasn’t recovered from the one-two pandemic and writer-strike punch: film count and product spend remain way down.

But we didn’t need an industry rag to tell us what’s going on out west. The broadly syndicated loan market was already telling us; it’s been puking out the loan of Cast & Crew Entertainment Services (the “company”), a payroll, HR, and production support services provider to the film, television and live entertainment industries, pretty much since November ‘25.
